The grouper model exhibits a fusiform body shape, tapering towards both the caudal and rostral ends. The scales are predominantly reddish-brown, interspersed with darker markings concentrated on the dorsal and ventral aspects of the fins. Lighter scale patches create a mottled effect across the body. The fish's head features two prominent, triangular fins, large circular eyes, and a partially open mouth.
